Firefox mystery solved! The reason I couldn't connect to Gmail for 2 days was the MacAfee Site Advisor extension decided for some reason to block me from that site, as it "contained suspicious activity" or some such nonsense. That activity might possibly be the spam email sent from my other email--maybe? I dunno, but I disabled the extension and presto, whammo, gmail works again. Some things about Chrome I'm not real happy with, like when I open 50 gazillion tabs, as is my norm, they all shrink up to the same size as my pinned tabs. But I suppose I can get used to that, it is nice to see all the tabs lined up instead of having to scroll for them as in Firefox.
Whew, exhausted from the 4th activities. Everyone left a little after 9 pm last night and then there was picking up and cleaning up and then reading and sleep and then a wake-up from a really scary weird dream in which I was trying to climb up this weird muddy ladder-type thing which was really steps or arms or something of some big machine, while a coven of mean girls was trying to make me fall for unknown reasons, including hitting my fingers with rocks. Oh, and I was carrying a baby -- unsure if it was my grandson or not, as the baby was about 7 months old and I was calling it "the baby" not "my grandbaby." Needless to say, there was no more sleeping after that.
So now we're off to the coast with the 5 yr old grandson (nightmare angst, anyone????)! Will be internetz-scarce til Sat. evening probably. By the time we get back, our 100+ temps will be starting, and it's doubtful we'll see anything less until Sept sometime, I'm betting. But who knows. Looks like some of the East coast and elsewhere might be getting some relief about the same time, though, so apparently we'll be getting our high pressure/heat trend back. Oh, yay.
